Top Cantonese Resources - Comprehensive List
The idea of this list is for you to have a single place to discover all the resources you need to self-study Cantonese. I only include in this list the tools that I have PERSONALLY USED and that I would recommend. That way, I am able to keep the integrity of this list intact.
I aim to keep this post updated whenever I have new recommendations.
If you want to see all my articles about learning Cantonese, please check out the Cantonese Category and view my list of publications.
Best Free Cantonese Resources
All of the following resources are either free Cantonese resources or at the very least have a free version. The little money that I did spend on learning Cantonese mostly went to private tutors for speaking practice and corrections (which in my opinion is worth the money).
Recommended Cantonese Podcasts
Check out my in-depth review of my Cantonese podcast recommendations: 5 Great Cantonese Podcast Recommendations. In the article, I talk about my strategy and technique when using podcasts to learn Cantonese while going over the pros and cons of each podcast recommendation to help you figure out which one is the best fit for your Cantonese study routine.
As a quick summary, here are my recommendations:
- 生活小領悟| Iced milk tea & chill
- Aiya Cantonese! 哎呀!廣東話打到嚟
- 請原諒我要十二點前瞓覺
- Miss Winnie Daily Cantonese Small Talk
- Chatty Cantonese
If I were only allowed to recommend just one of these podcasts to learn Cantonese, it would be Chatty Cantonese.
